最近の週末は雨ばかりですね。。。。
先日、そんな雨の週末に大町マラソンに参加してきました！
フルマラソンではなく、ハーフマラソンでもなく、、、
10kmのコースに参加しました
天気が良ければ、アルプスが綺麗に見れるであろうコースですが、残念ながら景色は見られず
見れたとしても景色を見る余裕もないくらいでしたが（苦笑）
最後の方は苦しかったのですが、沿道で応援してくれる方々の”頑張れ～！！”の声に励まされ、なんとか完走出来ました
走り終えた後の爽快感も最高です
そして、地元のキノコ汁、お漬物、りんごなどが振る舞われて心も身体も温まりました
さて、この週末も雨ですが、イングリッシュフォーユーでは明日の日曜日にハロウィンパーティーが開催されます
パレードの時間だけでも雨が止んでくれることを願います
みんなどんなコスチュームで来てくれるのか、、、とってもたのしみです♪

やっとお日様が顔を出してくれて
幸せな気分です。
さて、先日幸さんのお疲れ様の会を開きました。
幸さんは、イングリッシュフォーユー松本校開校当初から
マネージャーとしてこのスクールを運営してくれました。
今このイングリッシュフォーユーが
たくさんの生徒さんたちに愛されているのも
幸さんのお力のおかげです。
時には厳しく、時には母のようなおおらかさで
私達スタッフをまとめてくれました。
今回は、双子のお子さんたちもつれてきてくれましたので
母となりますます素敵になった幸さんに
お会いできて本当にうれしかったです。
新しい家族です！？

Hey everybody !!
It`s my last day in English For You today and I feel very sad to leave such a great group of people and such a beautiful city. The students I`ve taught have been amazing and it`s been great watching them grow throughout the year.
My favourite thing about working here has been the positive atmosphere that exists inside the school with the great staff, parents and students all creating a great place to learn.
I have many great memories from the school and the country that will stay with me forever so thank you everyone for giving me such a great year of my life.
I really love Japan and I hope that I can return some day and see everybody again.
Until then take care everybody.

雨ですね…。そして、寒いですね…。
秋はどこへ行ってしまったかのような、
寒さで我が家ではもうストーブ、おこたつとどちらも
出していしまいました！
皆さんはいかがでしょうか？
さて先日の土曜日、松本校では
"Welcome Party と Farewell Party"がありました。
今月より、新しいスタッフが２人増えました。
皆さんもご存知Matt と、文法クラスを担当している美奈子先生

皆様こんにちは。
お元気ですか？
今年最後の山登りに行ってまいりました！
今回は八ヶ岳の編笠山です。
山はもう秋の気配で、まっかなモミジや黄色に変わった木々の葉っぱがたくさん！
山の新鮮な空気と自然の良い香りで心身ともにリフレッシュできました！
頂上からは富士山をみることができて（チラッとですが。。。）少し得した気分でした。
帰りは温泉によって疲れを癒し
充実した１日でした。温泉最高でっす！
しかしまだ筋肉痛が。。。
寂しいですが私の今年の山登りは１０月で終了です。
来年は蝶ヶ岳に登りたいな〜。
それでは網笠山をご紹介いたします。
目指すは頂上！

雲の隙間から富士山が顔を出しました！ ありがとう〜！

What's the best part about Halloween? Some may say the costumes, but ask any kid and they'll tell you it's the candy candy candy candy CANDY! And it's hard to argue with candy! But there is one thing that both kids and adults love about this time of year.
Go to a Starbucks in America during the fall, and you will probably hear somebody order a Pumpkin Spice Latte. Go to a supermarket, and you will see Pumpkin Spice everything. But here in Japan, it's nowhere to be found.
Now, you might be thinking...辛いかぼちゃ？まずそう！But no! First off, that would be 'spicy pumpkin.' Secondly...Pumpkin spice actually does not have any pumpkin in it!
So, uh, why would you call it 'pumpkin spice' if there's no pumpkin? See, pumpkin spice is a mix of spices -- recipes can be found online, but they usually include cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, ginger, and cloves -- that is often used to make pumpkin pie. And yes, pumpkin pie DOES contain pumpkin. It is also the king of all pies.
I'm not sure about the origin, but it seems like Starbucks made the idea of putting pumpkin spice into a latte popular. It is certainly one of their most popular seasonal drinks, if not THE most popular. And the idea took off from there. Now you can find all kinds of drinks and sweets with seasonal pumpkin spice varieties.
Curious? You can make some here in Japan, and homemade always tastes better anyway! Here's a recipe from
Just mix all these together:
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon of ground cloves
Add it to whatever, but I recommend cakes, cookies, pancakes, hot chocolate, and of course, coffee!

Hello!
It's great to meet you all. I'm the new teacher here at English For You Matsumoto. Let me tell you a bit about myself!
My name is Matthew but you can call me Matt. I'm 32 years old, and I come from Bradford, England. I taught English in Seoul, South Korea for 7 years, and I have recently completed my Cambridge teaching qualification. I've visited Japan three times in the past, and it has always been a dream of mine to teach here. I arrived in Matsumoto last Sunday, and I'm looking forward to exploring the city when I get a chance.
My main hobbies are travelling and hiking, and I love to combine the two whenever I can. I have spent time hiking in Nepal and Spain, as well as some smaller treks in Southeast Asia. I'm excited to do some hiking around Matsumoto before it gets too cold! I love to read, mainly non-fiction, but I also like science-fiction books as well.
Everybody has been so welcoming here at EFY Matsumoto! At the moment I'm just observing classes but I'm really excited to start teaching soon. All of the students that I have met so far have been extremely friendly so I can't wait to meet the rest of you soon!
I look forward to seeing you all over the next few days. When you see me, come and say hi!
